Pastor Kevin Babb and his wife Georgia
I was born in Detroit, MI, to loving parents and three older siblings. My family moved to New Mexico when I was nine years old and I graduated from Del Norte High school in 1971. In 1972, I married Georgia West, which was the best decision I ever made, apart from accepting Jesus as my Lord and Savior. We have two godly daughters and as of this publication (October 2014), they have blessed us with 16.5 grandchildren and two great-grand kids.
Georgia and I accepted the free gift of eternal life in Jesus Christ in 1978 and 1979, respectively, and immediately began to attend a home Bible study at a small church close to our home in Paradise Hills. In 1986, we moved to the Northeast Heights and began attending Calvary Chapel of Albuquerque. We were amazed that the Bible, as a whole, could be understood so clearly. Soon, we began to attend a cell group (home fellowship) and shortly thereafter, I led one. It was at this time in my life that I began to ask the Lord if teaching His Word could be my new calling, because I loved studying God’s Word. His answer was ‘yes’ so I left my wonderful 22-year career at Sandia National Laboratories for fulltime ministry.
In 1999, I graduated from Calvary Chapel Bible College in Murrieta, CA, and completed an internship under Pastor Don McClure in San Jose, CA. Later on in 1999, I accepted a position at Calvary Chapel Bible Fellowship in Temecula, CA, primarily overseeing the Children’s ministry, Home Fellowships, and the facilities. After 10 years in CA, our family and home called us back to NM. We moved to Rio Rancho in 2006 and began ministering alongside our great friends, Pastor Robert and Juanita Hall at Calvary Rio Rancho.
The Lord put the Northern Meadows/North Hills area of Rio Rancho on our hearts and in our prayers, and spoke to me in a dream about planting a church to serve these neighborhoods and greater Rio Rancho. He even revealed the name of our loving Calvary in the Meadows! Stepping out in faith, we held our first worship service at Colinas Del Norte Elementary School on October 6, 2013. I have never been so blessed or so close to my Lord.
God has a future and a hope for this fellowship and we give Him thanks continuously for the saints He has brought into His church. We look forward to what He is going to do with Calvary in the Meadows.
In HIS service ‘till the rapture,
Pastor Kevin, aka “PK”
